About Us/Programs
IDEAS EMERGE Counseling and Consulting, PLLC was founded by Mrs. Quaninika Washington. Mrs. Washington currently holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development and Family Studies, from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling, from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, a Graduate Level/Post Masters Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy, from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and Ph.D (Philosophy) and Ed.D (Education) degrees from the The Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality. Mrs. Washington is also certified as a Co-Occurring Disorders Professional-Diplomate (highest level/Master’s level), a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor, and a Certified Moral Reconation Therapy (M.R.T.) Therapist. Mrs. Washington has several professional years in the fields of children and family issues, counseling, and coaching. These experiences include, but definitely are not limited to, Child Development Specialist, Child/Youth Development Center Director, Correctional Counselor, Substance Abuse Counselor, and Mentor.
**IDEAS EMERGE Counseling and Consulting, PLLC provides substance abuse counseling services, however the following educational programs are also provided. Services may be provided as an individual, group, family session or combination, dependent on requested service and client need.
**IDEAS EMERGE Counseling and Consulting, PLLC's educational programs may also be used as probation stipulations and/or diversion programs (at the discretion of the applicable Judge, Probation Officer, etc.). These programs may also be used as a means of awareness, intervention and/or substance abuse prevention.

M.R.T.:(Youth program ages 13-17) (Adults): *This program may also be used as a therapeutic means of assisting individuals with substance (alcohol and/or other drugs) related issues. M.R.T. focuses on enhancing the participants self-image, promoting the development of a positive and productive identity, facilitating the growth of higher levels of moral reasoning, increasing life’s purpose, as well as increasing other positive personality characteristics. Successful M.R.T. participants, may demonstrate improved personal, social, moral and behavioral functioning, an increase in positive behaviors and self esteem, decreased selfishness, an advanced level of moral reasoning and an advanced degree of working through frustrations. The step-by-step group program requires the participants to complete homework and present homework in group. Objective criteria will be employed to assess client completion of each homework assignment.
STRESS/ANXIETY/ANGER MANAGEMENT EDUCATION:(Youth ages 13-17) (Adults): Comprehensive group session program. These sessions are designed to help individuals to understand deal with these emotions/feelings in a safe, productive way. Focuses include, assisting participants with understanding their emotions, improving their communication skills and developing skills that will allow them to deal with stress, anger and/or anxiety in a positive manner. This group may also use supplemental one-on-one sessions with Therapist. Complete program has a variety of methods employed.
SHOPLIFTING:This program confronts and exposes thinking and behaviors associated with shoplifting. This is a six-module, educational, rehabilitation program that has clients complete homework and then present it in group.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT:(for at risk students-ages 13-17): This program aims to decrease student risk of school failure and to encourage students to demonstrate attitudes and behaviors during school, that reflect social responsibility. By lessening school drop outs and/or school suspensions for exhibiting poor character development, substance abuse, truancy etc. we may also achieve the goal of decreasing the after effects of these drop outs and suspensions, such as: long term psychological adjustment problems, unemployment/underemployment rates, substance abuse and/or other risky behaviors, committing of crimes, and dependence on the welfare system. This program also includes focuses on will power and self-discipline.
C.A.P. (Children of Addicted Parents):(Middle School-approx. ages 12-15–Other age groups may be available also): The overall goals of this program, are to build strength and to foster resilience among children of addicted parents. The aim is to build skills in the areas of: social competence, problem solving, coping, autonomy, and a sense of purpose and future.
BAD CHECKS/REPEAT TRAFFIC OFFENDERS/PETTY CRIME/RESTITUTION:(Adults) The goal of this program is to teach responsible living. Focuses include: rules, values, making commitments, budgeting etc.
UNDERAGE DRINKING/CRIMINAL IMPERSONATION (False ID):(Youth ages 13-17)This program is aimed at assisting participants in realizing that “rules are made to be followed”.
PARENTING:(Adults) This program is aimed at assisting parents and caregivers in discovering and developing appropriate and effective parenting methods, while focusing on the underlying family values. Parents are allowed to confront their own parenting styles, values and methods of discipline.
CO-DEPENDENCY (Adults): This program confronts “co-dependent” relationships and issues that may be related to those relationships.
DRUG/ALCOHOL COUNSELING/EDUCATION;CO-OCCURRING DISORDERS (Youth) (Adults) (Family): This program is aimed at providing participants with crucial information pertaining to drugs/alcohol, such as: the physical effects of drugs/alcohol on the body; how drugs/alcohol may affect the mind; mental conditions caused by or made worse by alcohol/drugs; alcohol/drug facts; the addiction cycle, the effect that emotions and goals have on the desire to use drugs/alcohol, etc.
TEEN AWARENESS/LIFE SKILLS EDUCATION PROGRAM:This program is designed to provide teens with awareness and skills that they may use throughout life. This program is designed to cover a variety of topics across six developmental domains: physical, relational, intellectual, sexual and spiritual. Teens in this program are encouraged to be productive pro-active in their community, family, school, faith, etc. and to feel positive about their life.
EMPLOYMENT READINESS:This program presents what a “good employee” is, a self assessment, work goals and habits, information on how to get and keep a job, as well as information on how and why people get promoted. This program targets individuals who are about to enter the work world as well as those who have poor work histories.
CHILD/FAMILY SUPPORT:This program directly confronts failure to pay child or family support payments. This program is targeted to individuals who have failed to maintain obligations to pay family or child support.
IMAGE COACHING: These services are for the enhancement of professional and/or personal images. This program aims to boost confidence and more, by enhancing image. These services have been used to encourage development, promote self esteem, obtain beneficial information and products for professional and personal endeavors and more. Services include, but are not limited to coaching for dressing, makeup, color schemes, jewelry, poise, communication skills, outer appearance and more.
**Childcare services may be available, only while a parent/guardian/caregiver is on the premises, and only if you have requested and been approved for such. There is an additional fee for this service.
We also provide:*Family/Community Topic Seminars; *Assessments; *Childcare Provider Seminars; *Contract Services; *Employee Assistance Services; *Individual/Family Sessions; *Assistance with locating/acquiring additional resources/services (level of assistance with locating/acquiring additional resources/services are on a case-by-case basis and are dependent on various factors, including, but not limited to: availability of resources to agency and cooperativeness of client)
